Not Every Crypto Company Is Automatically a CASP

Using terms such as "crypto", "digital assets", "Web3" or "MiCA compliant" does not by itself establish regulatory status.

The relevant legal entity, activities, jurisdiction and authorisation should be verified through appropriate official sources.

04 / CASP

Authorisation

MiCA generally requires persons providing crypto-asset services in the Union to be authorised as CASPs or to fall within an applicable route for certain already-regulated financial entities.

Verification

ESMA maintains an EU-level MiCA register, while national authorities maintain relevant national information and registers.
